In France 1669, an unknown man was secretly masked and imprisoned for life, under the orders of Louis XIV, in bizarre and mysterious circumstances. He was allowed the best of everything and given anything he desired, other than human companionship. This intriguing episode in French history has now been given an original and dramatic interpretation.
